About.

2 dogs and a cat

Dander is a Portland, Oregon based acoustic trio blending original compositions, traditional bluegrass, americana, and rock and roll covers in a bluegrass adjacent style.

The band showcases clever originals about such things as dogs, bumper stickers, casinos, DB Cooper and the autobiographical tale of being a grumpy old man.

Humorous and thoughtful songwriting, Dander takes inspiration from the likes of Willie Nelson, Jerry Garcia, Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Tom Petty and U2.

Dander performs around a single mic in old school style one Portland DJ referred to as, “rough(ruff) enough to be interesting”. Dander performances are fun, entertaining and embrace the tradition of 3(maybe 4) chords and the truth; an antidote for a cold digital world. In addition to gigs at local tap rooms, Dander can be found in living rooms, back yards or busking at a down town music fest.

As for the music, well, guess one could call it bluegrass adjacent or dad grass or Americana, or whatever, but check it out and see for yourself.
