Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
Guided Rails LLC values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, protect, and share your data when you use Catberry.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our services:
- Personal Details: Name, email address, username, profile photo, and optional location information (city, state, ZIP code, timezone)
- Artist Profile Content: Bio, website, social links, genres, and instruments you add to your artist profile. This content is displayed publicly on your artist page
- Your Activity: Your activity on the platform, including event RSVPs, circle memberships, artists you fan, and notification preferences
- Usage Metrics: IP addresses, browser type, and device information
- Approximate Location: An approximate location (such as city and region) that Cloudflare derives from your IP address, which we use to show you events near you
- Cookies: Used for session management to keep you logged in
- Contact Form Submissions: Name, email address, optional phone number, inquiry category, and message content when you contact us
- Organization Inquiries: Organization name, contact name, email address, and message when an organization contacts us through the "For Organizations" page
- Booking Inquiries: First and last name, email address, and message when you submit a booking inquiry to an artist. We deliver the inquiry to the artist you're asking to book
- Newsletter Signups: Email address when you sign up for our newsletter, which we use to send you the newsletter
- Payment Records: Payment amounts, payment status, and Stripe transaction identifiers when you make a payment or subscribe to support a circle. Your card number and other payment details are collected and processed by Stripe directly and are never stored by Catberry
- Band Signups: Band name, genres, and bio when you start a band page. You can submit these without creating an account. The page stays internal, visible only to our staff, until we review it
When you submit a booking inquiry or sign up for our newsletter, we create a profile record keyed to your email address so we can associate that activity with it. This record has no password and doesn't receive a welcome email. If you later create a Catberry account with the same email address, it attaches to that existing record.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To provide and improve our services
- To communicate with you and provide customer support
- To personalize your experience on the platform
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service
3. How We Protect Your Information
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, and secure servers to protect your personal information. However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
4. Sharing Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Artists You Ask to Book: When you submit a booking inquiry, we deliver your name, email address, and message to the artist you're asking to book.
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist with hosting, file storage, email delivery, address geocoding, and payment processing.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, such as in response to subpoenas, court orders, or regulatory demands.
We do not sell or trade your personal information without your consent.
5. Cookies
We use cookies for session management to keep you logged in. Disabling cookies will prevent you from staying logged in to the platform.
If you start a band page without an account, we also store the ID of that page in your session cookie so each step of the signup can find it. We clear it when you finish the signup, whether or not you create an account.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data (subject to legal exceptions)
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
If you gave us information without creating an account, such as by starting a band page, you can still exercise these rights. Email us at the address in the Contact Information section and tell us the band name you used, and we'll take it from there.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations.
General contact form submissions are automatically deleted after 30 days. Inquiries you send us as an organization are kept while we follow up with you.
Booking inquiries are kept so the artist can follow up with you. You can ask us to delete an inquiry at any time.
Newsletter signups are kept while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we don't email you again, and you can ask us to delete it entirely.
Band pages started without an account are kept for our team to review, even if you leave the signup partway through or choose not to create an account. They stay internal, visible only to our staff, until that review happens. You can ask us to delete one at any time.
8. Third-Party Links
Our platform may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites.
9. Children's Privacy
We do not intentionally collect information from children under 13. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately.
10. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare: Content delivery and security services. Cloudflare routes requests to our website and adds approximate visitor location data (such as city and coordinates derived from your IP address) to the requests our servers receive. We use this approximate location to order events and circles by proximity to you. For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- DigitalOcean Spaces: Cloud object storage for profile photos and other uploaded media.
- Resend: Transactional email delivery for account notifications and contact form replies.
- Photon (by Komoot): Open-source geocoding service used to convert venue and event addresses into map coordinates. Geocoding requests contain only the address being looked up.
- Fathom Analytics: Cookieless, privacy-focused website analytics. Fathom collects aggregate, anonymous pageview data and does not use cookies, collect personal data, or track you across other sites.
- Stripe: Payment processing for support payments, circle membership subscriptions, and payouts to organizers. Your card number and other payment details are collected and processed by Stripe directly; Catberry never stores them. Organizers who receive payouts provide identity and bank account details to Stripe when they set up payouts. For more information, see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
