Free Range

Free Range is two voices, three instruments, a wide range of acoustic and bluegrass music, and a lot of fun.

Drawing on bluegrass, folk rock, folk and swing, Free Range plays songs that they love – and that they hope listeners will love, as well.

Our big inspirations have been Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, Laurie Lewis, Flatt and Scruggs, Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine and Kate Wolf. We are happy to draw on all their creations and add some of our own.
Free Range, based in Portland, Oregon, has been performing at farmers markets, brewpubs, wineries, private parties, retirement communities and weddings for more than a decade. We hope you'll listen to some of our music – and enjoy it.
