Every week a rough circle forms in the back room of the Drexel Barber Shop, and whoever brought an instrument is in it. This jam session has been going on Every Saturday since it started in 1964. We start around 10 AM and pick until the last one leaves.
There is no signup and no audition. Some of these players toured for twenty years, some are a year into learning, and they sit in the same ring and trade the same tunes. Bring something with strings on it, find a seat, and play what you know. If a tune gets away from you, hang back and catch the next one. Nobody is keeping score.
